The founder of eight east lawn, Philip Chen, has over forty years domestic
and international experience (including significant emerging markets exposure) in the engineering, legal representation, and
financing of similar projects. His experience includes projects such as electric power plants, waste-to-energy power
plants, water and waste water systems, toll roads, airports, ports and harbors, ocean research, telecommunications, natural
gas pipelines, initial development of the coal-fired fluidized bed boiler, transmission lines, hospitals, ambulatory care
facilities, privatization, Public-Private-Partnerships, troubled projects, and many more.
Amongst his other credentials, the founder of eight east lawn has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering
with Distinction from the University of Virginia, a Master of Science from Stanford University, and a Juris Doctor from the
University of Minnesota.
He was a senior engineer in major architect-engineering
companies and environmental services firms, an attorney in major law firms, a managing director in a major bulge-bracket investment
firm, the founding managing director of one of the world's first private equity funds devoted to infrastructure development,
and the president of the international group of a major environmental services firm and Chief Marketing Officer for the parent.
He is a registered professional engineer in two states and has been admitted to the practice of law.
